With over 20 years of experience in Airline Operations, Zahid Sultan-Khan boasts a diverse portfolio of skills and accomplishments.
Having successfully managed the Entry into Service (EIS) of the Boeing 777F into Silk Way West Airlines’ fleet, Zahid now manages the fleet as its Chief Pilot. Zahid prioritises his role as a Pilot first and Manager second, but his expertise extends well beyond the yoke of an aircraft.

In addition to his piloting duties, his roles in management include being the Deputy VP for Crew Training – managing the training and compliance of over 250 Pilots for the airline while at the same time holding the roles of Instructor and Examiner for the Boeing 747-400, 747-8 and the Boeing 777. While at the same time liaising with aircraft OEMs to help steer aircraft design and development towards Silk Way West Airlines’ operational vision.

Zahid’s previous positions include Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI) and leading the EIS for the Boeing 747-8. He has also supervised critical audits, such as IOSA, and played a key role in integrating new technologies, including the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) and other innovations into the airline.

A self-proclaimed tech enthusiast, Zahid is passionate about harnessing technology to enhance aviation and digitise flight operations. His initiatives have included digitising Aircraft Performance Calculations, introducing the Electronic Flight Bag at Silk Way West Airlines and now an Electronic Flight Plan too.
