I am an Avionic Systems Engineer with over 25 years of professional experience in the design, development, and integration of avionics systems for military aircraft. I graduated in Electronic Engineering from Turin Polytechnic and currently work at Leonardo S.p.A. in Turin, within the Aeronautics Division, specifically in the Avionic Systems Research & Innovation department.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of contributing to some of Europe’s most significant defense programs, specializing in avionics systems.
My career began with the Eurofighter program, where I was responsible for defining software, system, functional, and test requirements for the Safety Critical Armament Controller. Working on one of Europe’s most ambitious military aviation projects provided invaluable experience in understanding the rigorous standards and methodologies required for safety-critical systems development.
I spent over a decade working on the C-27J Spartan tactical airlifter program, initially focusing on system and functional requirements analysis for the Mission Computer Operational Flight Program, and later transitioning to Flight Management System and Mission Computer integration. I also contributed to advanced jet trainer programs including the M-345, working on Navigation Systems integration.
Currently, I am participating in the FASETT program, a European research initiative for Future Air Systems for European Tactical Transportation, focusing on feasibility studies of tactical Mission Systems for next-generation military transport aircraft and investigating the Modular Open System Approach (MOSA) for enhanced flexibility and interoperability in avionics architectures.

    As aviation systems adopt open architectures, aligning the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) with NATO and other international standards is essential to achieving global interoperability. This session explores how the FACE Consortium—now an international community—is promoting a common approach to software portability and integration while encouraging broader international engagement in standards development and alignment. Discussion will focus on how FACE aligns with related initiatives such as MOSA and SOSA, and how collaborative efforts among governments, industry, and regulators are shaping the next generation of open standards—driving consistency, reuse, and accelerated capability delivery across allied airborne and mission systems.
